Participants will generate a 500 word text prior to the workshop describing a recent project or the concerns of their practice more generally. Through this text we will exercise a number editing techniques including close reading, vocal playback and cut-up method. We will consider the ways in which it is possible to write about art and how one may write as art through exposure to textual, aural and visual examples of artists engaging with language as practice in the UK currently.
Toward the end of the week and within one day, participants will collectively research and individually apply to a selected artist's residency or similar. There is also scope to program an event or produce a publication outside of the institution based on our outcomes at the end of the one-week project.
